Lynne Lichtenauer Legacy Scholarship

Lynne Lichtenauer Legacy Scholarship
On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, the Joliet community lost a treasured friend when past JTHS Alumni and Development Director, Lynne Lichtenauer, passed away.  Lynne built the foundation for alumni relations that we have today at Joliet Township High School.  She loved JTHS, and she cherished our alumni.

When she retired from JTHS, an endowed scholarship fund was established in her name to honor her dedication to our schools.  If you would like to contribute to this scholarship, you may do so here.  The scholarships are given to JTHS seniors in Lynne’s honor.

Lynne Lichtenauer’s Legacy
Lynne came to the JTHS family as the Director of Alumni and Development to celebrate the Centennial year of Joliet Township High School in 2001.  She planned a year-long celebration that included a month of decade reunions and an all school reunion that brought together alumni from JTHS, Central, West and East.  There was a time capsule, and she reached out to and honored former homecoming kings and queens, football players, band members and cheerleaders at homecoming festivities.  The band and orchestra performed at the Rialto, and she made sure to shine light on accomplished alumni such as John Houbolt, Katherine Dunham, Robert Novak and Brent Wadsworth.  The celebration brought alumni from all over the country together once again to share the pride in their high school.   It was a once in a lifetime celebration, and it was all Lynne.  She brought people together.  She was a connecter.

After retirement, Lynne remained a constant supporter of our district and continued to be involved through featuring students, staff and alumni on WJOL and supporting the JTHS Foundation.

She is deeply missed by our JTHS family.
