On Sunday, February 26, 2017, the Joliet Central Band invites students, families and the community to their upcoming Winter Concert starting at 3pm in the Joliet Central Auditorium, 201 East Jefferson Street in Joliet. The event is free and open to the public.

The Winter Concert will feature performances by the Joliet Central Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Joliet District 86 All City Band as special guests.  The special guest conductor for March of the Steelmen will be alumnus Philip Clarke, class of 1972. Clarke made Joliet Central High School history by being the school’s very first African-American drum major when he was a student.

The featured selection will be Karl Orff’s Carmina Burana (O Fortuna) by the Symphonic Band. Audiences may recognize this powerful music from dramatic or catastrophic scenes in various movies and television commercials.
